We believe that every refugee and asylum seeker has a story. The issue is that many of these stories go underreported in their country of origin, impacting their results in the country in which they seek asylum. Our organization will be the first of its kind regarding the every-day coverage of African Refugees globally. We seek to do so by partnering with major, global news platforms to generate a frequent news cycle, covering African Refugees and their status.

We’re always excited to collaborate with mission-driven brands, creators, and community members who want to make a meaningful impact. Whether you’re looking to support through your business, your platform, or your resources, we’d love to connect. Partnering with us helps expand our reach and strengthens the support we provide to those who need it most.

Reportage

Our mission is to “restore racial equity to refugee aid”. As an organization, we seek to advocate for and provide assistance to refugees of African descent, outside of Africa. Amid the broader refugee experience, African refugees often face the added burden of racial discrimination that serves as an hindrance in receiving everyday- essential needs and legal assistance. Sadly, these experiences can be seen globally. Black immigrants in the U.S. are more likely to be detained and deported for criminal convictions than non-Black immigrants. Despite making up only 7% of the immigrant population, they make up 20% of immigrants facing deportation on criminal grounds.

In the European Union, as many as 45% of people of African descent reported racial discrimination in the last 12 months — up from 39% in 2016.

And in Latin America, their experiences are no different. In Mexico, Africans have experienced worse detention conditions than other migrants and are more easily targeted for extortion

Our vision is to address the gap between racial inequity and human rights — not often addressed within refugee politics. Our organization, operates as a 3 in 1 structure. We believe that by providing meticulous data and advocacy, frequent journalistic reportage, and crisis and essential support, we will be able to take a holistic approach to assisting the diasporic, African Refugee population - globally, restoring racial equity to humanitarian aid.

Crisis and Essential Support Services

In addition to our informative services, we seek to provide crisis and essential support such as emergency response during major conflicts alongside essential everyday services such as housing, employment, and legal services.

The African Refugee Alliance has been a beacon of hope, providing essential support and resources for refugees. As a child refugee and current journalist, I have worked along with this team and have seen it first hand. Their dedication truly makes a difference in our community.
