Life in German detention center: migrants share their experience through a short film

SHORT FILM: The Forgotten Onez

When the word Bavaria is mentioned in any space or conversation, most people are perplexed by the name or reminded of some of Germany’s famed traditions and landscapes: Oktoberfest, its green forests, the oversized Bavarian pretzel, and some of the world’s most beautiful castles. This narrative, which drives almost 20 million tourists to the state of Bavaria annually, overshadows the faint voices, echoes, and calls for help in the far countryside, that are inaudible underneath all of the noise. This short film, produced in collaboration with the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, gives a small glimpse into the lives of refugees living in Bavaria.
